Lake Sybelia Area Improvements

The City of Maitland will begin construction Oct. 22 to replace wastewater pipeline in your area. The 10-month project will install 10,000 feet of underground pipe along city streets beginning from Hillman Avenue and west along Sandspur Road. The route connects north on North Wymore Road and underneath Interstate 4 to reach N. Lake Destiny Road and Maitland Center Parkway.

Work will use directional boring to install pipeline 10 feet below the ground surface from different locations along the route. This will minimize impacts to roadways, sidewalks and adjacent properties. Limited sections of sidewalk will need to be replaced, and no trees are expected to be impacted. Construction areas will be clearly marked. Pedestrians will be directed to use the opposite sides of streets where necessary.

Initial work will begin from the east and require a temporary detour for vehicles around the intersection of Hillman Avenue and Lake Sybelia. The City of Maitland is coordinating with Lake Sybelia Elementary to ensure school activities are minimally impacted.
